The summer movie season is fast approaching, and, as always, I'll be covering the biggest blockbusters of 2014, all summer long! Just so you know, I consider summer films to be any films released from May to August. Sure, some films don't have that big, summer-movie feel, but, regardless of what movie you are watching, if you sweat after leaving the theater, it's summertime. So, take a look at my lists of expectations, below, which include my expectations for films' financial success and my expectations for films entertainment success. The films are in no specific order, with regard to their respective categories. Let me know if I left off one that you are really looking forward to! Enjoy the summer of 2014!!!

Man, I'm so bummed to say that I'm not even the least bit excited to see most of these. I'm pumped for X-Men and Godzilla, but beyond that... I got nothin'. I've heard The Double is solid though.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I agree that the field is pretty weak this summer. However, I actually read The Fault in Our Stars, and I can't wait for that one! My inner teenage fan-girl is showing itself, I guess. And, I loved 21 Jump Street, and Jonah Hill is my man, so I gotta check 22 out (although the trailer is less than satisfying). Also, like The Help, Get on Up was filmed here in Mississippi, so I can't wait to see how that turns out!
DeleteOf course, X-Men is sure to take the cake. As far as being exciting and fun, I don't think there will be a film to top it in 2014. Maybe the summer will surprise us, though!
I'd say that my most anticipated films for this summer/(my winter) are: 1. The Fault in Our Stars 2. The Double 3. X-Men 4. 22 Jump Street. This season is looking a little thin though. I think too many fantasies to be honest. A Million Ways to Die in the West looks pretty promising though. They're aren't many Western parodies out there. Great blog by the way!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment and the kind words! Glad you're excited about TFiOS. If you've read the book, you know it's gonna be awesome!
DeleteI agree that the season is a bit of a let down, but I think X-Men may have the power to make the entire summer a success.
No worries Tanner. I have read the book and have been going on rather incessantly about it ever since on my blog. I have so much respect for John Green. This film has alot going for it.
DeleteYes I have been hearing some great things about the latest X-Men instalment!
