Great Expectations: May 2013

It's time to break out the popcorn, theaters! People are prepping for the 3D, blow your socks off graphics that are so good that you need popcorn to distract you from the actual film. Personally, I haven't bought anything from the theater's concession stand in probably like three years. Add that to the fact that I usually watch matinees, and you will understand why I don't really help the theater's profits. Normally, I would encourage everyone to be cheap like me, but, in this case, I need y'all to waste your money at the theater, so that it won't shut down for any reason... EVER!!! I won't bore you with an explanation of the awesomeness that comes with summer movies. If you do need to be reminded, here is a link to my 2013 summer movie preview: CLICK ME. Here are some films that I'm really looking forward to this May...

The Great Gatsby
(May 10)

Star Trek Into Darkness
(May 17)

The Hangover: Part III
(May 24)

The Kings of Summer
(May 31)

  1. What, no Iron Man 3? :P

But nah, these all look like they'll be pretty good. Well, all except for The Hangover, which I'll be going in with the lowest of expectations after the abysmal second movie and not-too-good looking second trailer.

As for concessions and being cheap at the theater, I managed to get away with being as cheap as possible for years, but lately I've found myself going to the more expensive showings at night rather than waiting to see it in the morning, and occasionally buying a drink while I'm there. Guess I've just gotten a little less stingy with cash at the theater, not really sure why either, heh.

  2. I will be at the theater on Friday to watch Iron Man, but I just can't get too excited about. My emotions are similar to your emotions for The Hangover. No way that Iron Man 2 was better than The Hangover 2!

I have to sacrifice and go to late movies sometimes, but I never eat the food ha
